WHAT IS MAYO?
Mayo is a platform with purpose. To help people help each other.
Mayo started with a simple idea. That the people nearby us are the people who can help us the most. Technology has given us so many avenues for communication, but it has also made us feel even further apart from our communities and our neighbors.
You can talk to a stranger across the globe, fund a kickstarter on another continent, or even date someone who lives in another state, all thanks to the magic of technology. Yet we’re often even more disconnected from our own neighbors now that we have a phone or a computer to serve as a barrier.
Mayo seeks to remove the social barriers to asking and offering for help. Connect people with the people who can help the quickest – the people nearby.
We believe in a world where you can talk to anyone freely, ask for help, and feel better doing it.

The vision for Mayo was formed in 2018 around Allen Chan’s desire to bring the world closer together through genuine in-person interactions.
Founder: Allen Chan
Allen is a product visionary who has led the product design for more than a dozen companies and startups, including one that was acquired by Google. Prior to Mayo, Allen cofounded several startups and served stints at both Microsoft and Amazon. Allen is passionate about empathetic, data-driven design and using technology for social good.
Chief Marketing Officer/Co-Founder: Megan Thorne
Megan is a marketing leader with over ten years of experience building campaigns for global brands such as Amazon and Microsoft.
Tech Lead: Niket Malik
Niket is a software engineer with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies.
A team of purpose driven experts, known as the Heroic Together community, volunteers their time and skills to Mayo.
In addition, Mayo has a passionate and talented team of interns that serve as the backbone of the Mayo team.
